Artist’s Comments:

It was a warm day in the fall of 2013 when our plein air group decided to go to Whiskeytown to paint. Gear and lunch sacks in hand, we headed for the old Camden House at Whiskeytown Lake, located in the historic Tower House district. Charles Camden built the old house itself along Clear Creek in 1852, and one day soon I will go back to that area and paint that house.
But on this particularly beautiful day, my heart led me to the creek. There was “bear evidence” everywhere, but I brought my trusty dog along, and was not too worried. The early morning light sifting over the mountains, highlighting the bright yellows, greens and reds along the creek sang to me as I found my “spot” to paint… And later a few of us went wading in the creek….
